Sheikh Mohammed chairs first meeting of National Security Council

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai today chaired the first meeting of the National Security Council at the Presidential Palace.

The Council is headed by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President and the Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces.

The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, HH Lt.General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, HE Mohammed Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs and HE Saif Sultan Al Aryani, Secretary General of the Council.

The National Security Council considered a number of ideas and proposals that could serve as a starting point to outline the council's work policy, achieve it's objectives and define its priorities along with the adoption of its decision-making mechanism and its implementation.

The meeting stressed the need to translate the National goals and mission of the Council represented in the consolidation of national unity on the national level along with promoting the spirit of national decision-making and deepen the sense of belonging and loyalty to the homeland and its wise leadership among the community of the UAE and its institutions.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized, during the meeting the importance of intensifying the constructive cooperation and coordination between the Council and all the concerned authorities in the UAE at the federal and local levels and work to overcome obstacles that may prevent enabling the council to accomplish its mission and implement its national tasks.

Sheikh Mohammed wished the members of the National Security Council success in serving the precious homeland expressing his confidence in the absolute sincerity and efficiency of the Council's members.
