Khalifa, Mohammed receive President Mubarak

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with Egyptian President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak, in the presence of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, at Al Mushrif Palace today.
After reviewing ways to enhance the distinguished fraternal relations between their two countries, the leaders exchanged views on the current situation in the Arab world, as well as other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Sheikh Khalifa expressed his desire to boost bilateral ties, and praised Egypt's efforts concerning major Arab issues, especially in achieving national reconciliation with the Palestinians. He went on to affirm the UAE's support for these efforts, and underlined the importance of moving the peace process forward to achieve sustainable and comprehensive peace in the region.
President Mubarak hailed the UAE's wise policies under the leadership of Sheikh Khalifa, pointing out that the meeting comes as part of consultations to foster mutual cooperation, to serve the interests of their two countries and peoples.
President Mubarak had earlier arrived at Al Mushrif Palace, where he was welcomed by Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. Other sheikhs and senior officials were also present at the reception.
Following the meeting, Sheikh Khalifa hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of President Mubarak and his accompanying delegation.
