Ministry of Culture honors Emirates Palace

The Emirates Palace has been awarded the Gold Award by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development as a leading organiser of best, exciting entertainment events in celebration of the UAE 38th National Day.
The Ministry said the Emirates Palace was recognised for its outstanding role in presenting national day events locally and internationally.
Commenting on the achievement, General Manager of Emirates Palace Mr. Hans Olbertz said '' The Emirates Palace is privileged and honoured to have received such an accolade. We are proud to be among the top organisers of national events".
? ''The Award adds new significance to the Emirates Palace which harvested in 2009 a collection of prestigious awards from reputed international travel and tourism industry organisations, therefore establishing our esteemed profile as a leader of luxury tourism in the world,'' he added.
Emirates Palace offered unique celebrations to recognize and honour the special occasion of the 38th National Day of UAE with a breathtaking array of activities which engaged residents, guests and employees, with world record breaking events to showcase Abu Dhabi to a global audience.
The largest recorded human flag depicting the UAE National Flag was created by 600 employees of Emirates Palace representing over 50 nationalities with warm National Day greetings in all languages to record the celebration.
An exclusive exhibition was staged in the Emirates Palace Dome, including a 38 tiered National Day Cake, a display of 38 types of dates exhibit, exclusive public showing of a painting by Van Merbeck of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and an authentic traditional Bedouin Tent.
From 2nd Dec for one week from sunset to midnight, Emirates Palace dramatically lit up the night sky with a uniquely designed and orchestrated laser show including sky beam and flying elements.
Emirates Palace also organised a dramatic pyrotechnics display at several locations across the capital on 2nd and 3rd Dec as part of the unique programme.
