Mohammed chairs cabinet meeting

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum chaired a meeting of the cabinet at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi today.
The meeting was held with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The Cabinet approved the formation of a high ministerial committee to be headed by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, with Minister of Social Affairs as Deputy Chairman and the membership of Ministers of Education, Health, Labour, State Minister Maitha Al Shamsi and Chairman of National Media Council.
The committee will be tasked with the implementation of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's call for boosting national and communal solidarity in the UAE community, which he stressed in his speech on the 38th National Day.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the importance of President’s call which reflects the leadership’s integrated vision that is based on achieving sustainable development in the UAE, ordering that the call be considered as a main document and a reference to be adopted in all development and communal schemes in the next stage.
The Cabinet’s decision also specified 2010- 2012 to enable the committee streamline general framework of its plan, programme and communications to submit it to the Cabinet to take appropriate resolutions.
The Cabinet also agreed the Federal National Council will discuss policies of Health Ministry and the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) in its next meeting.
It also ratified a number of agreements signed between the UAE and Spain on extradition of criminals and mutual legal assistance in criminal issues, as well as transfer of the convicts.
Concluding the meeting, the cabinet endorsed a number of federal government appointments and discussed other issues on its agenda, and took appropriate decisions.
