Mohammed chairs cabinet meeting in Liwa

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum chaired a meeting of the cabinet at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort at Liwa in the Western Region today.
The meeting was held with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed his pleasure on holding the Cabinet retreat session this year at such a historic venue, hoping that the quietness of desert would help the Council of Ministers take sound decisions.
During the meeting the Cabinet examined the achievements of the first phase of the Federal Government Strategy from 2008 to 2010. A number of ministers briefed the Cabinet on the practical implementation of the strategies of their ministries and future plans to commence implementation of the second phase, which runs from 2011 to 2013, and whose priorities are safeguarding the family ties and national identity, as well as qualitative education, health and knowledge driven economy.
Secretary General of the Supreme National Security Council Saif Sultan Al Aryani, briefed the Cabinet about the strategy of the council based on an advanced system to manage the national security through activating and easing information swap among competent authorities to address national endeavours and implement directives of the leadership.
