Mohammed concludes Cabinet meeting with a National Charter

The cabinet, chaired by UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has concluded its conclave at Qasr Al Sarab Resort in Liwa, Western Region.
The meeting was held with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
In his speech concluding the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed announced the issuance of the UAE national Charter for 2021. The document that carries the theme “We want to be one of the best countries in the world” coincides with the UAE’s celebration of its golden jubilee.
Sheikh Mohammed specified four key components of the national charter: ambitious and confident people who adhere to their heritage, a strong Union with common destiny, a competitive economy that is led by innovative and knowledgeable UAE nationals, and high quality life endowed with sustainable environment.
The first component, Sheikh Mohammed said, means UAE nationals with ambition and high sense of responsibility, who are capable of drawing their future with confidence and participating effectively in sustainable social and economic environment based on stability, solidarity, moderate Islamic values and original national heritage.
As for the strong union, he said, "it is a strong union with common destiny that protects Emiratis and advocates balanced development to make the UAE an influential and effective power".
The third component, he continued, "is the knowledge diverse flexible economy led by skilled professional Emiratis".
Sheikh Mohammed noted that the fourth component in the national charter talks about prosperous UAE nationals who enjoy long life, good health, quality education and other distinguished services provided by the government.
He underscored the significance of charter, which embodies UAE future vision until 2012 in which the country will mark golden jubilee of the union. He added that the union proceeds in the footsteps of founding fathers in the light of their strong determination and extrapolation. He went on to say that the UAE nationals are now reaping fruits of our speedy economic growth.
Sheikh Mohammed warned that ambitious nation can’t rely on the past or current achievements, but looks forward to scoring more achievements through striving hard and vigilance to overcome challenges.
He said said: "As we look to the future, we establish a pace in the empowerment of the nation and the citizens, we force our way with confidence, optimism and determination to address the challenges that we face.”
Sheikh Mohammed concluded his speech saying, “of course, no ambitious nation can achieve its goals by relying on past achievements; history always writes the present and future, and this prompts us to further work and more innovation and greater organization. History also makes us stay alert of trends and challenges that we may face. Through profound and frank reading of our current situation and keeping abreast of the changes and the latest regional and international changes, with determination of anticipating events, we ensure a future full of quality additions to the achievements of the pioneer founders of our great country and living decent, secure, stable and well-off life with dignity and respect for the generations to come.
Sheikh Mohammed’s speech was warmly applauded by the ministers who pledged to work sincerely for the homeland, its leadership and its people.
Before closing the session, Sheikh Mohammed noted that there is no Cabinet reshuffle at the moment, citing that the performances of ministers, their commitment to the national principles of innovation and development and serve the nation and the citizen determine whether they should stay or give up their posts.

Sheikh Mohammed urged his ministers to prepare for the next phase with serious and sincere national action internally and externally to keep our country the focus of attention and respect worldwide.
