Mohammed opens Umm Al Quwain community centre

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated a new Centre for the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Community Development in Umm Al Quwain today.

Following a warm reception from Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla and Umm Al Quwain Crown Prince Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Sheikh Mohammed unveiled a plaque to commemorate the occasion.

Accompanied by the Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, sheikhs and ministers, Sheikh Mohammed toured the building's interior, where he was briefed by Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development Abdul Rahman Mohammed Nassir Al Owais about the centre's development and facilities.

After watching a documentary on the UAE's achievements since 1971, Sheikh Mohammed inspected a library dedicated to children, reading rooms and other amenities there.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the efforts of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and community development in its quest to open new centres around the country. He also drew attention to the ministry's role in boosting the public's interest in art, culture and heritage, which are at the core of national identity.

Also present at the opening ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, other ministers, dignitaries and senior officials.
