Mohammed attends operetta

Sheikh Mohammed embraces local stars of the future UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended a musical performance titled, Al Noor (Light) Operetta, organised by the Ministry of Education at the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai this evening.

Also present at the event were Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Umm Al Quwain Crown Prince Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, other sheikhs, ministers and educational leaders in the country.

The brainchild of Minister of Education Humaid Mohammed Obeid Al Qattami, the operetta is the product of collaboration by lyrics writer Aref Al Khaja, composers Ibrahim Juma and Shaker Hassan and director Abdullah Al Serkal. In his welcoming address, Al Qattami paid tribute to UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for their special care and attention to the development of the educational sector.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the artistic work as a fine concept that allows students to exploit their talents and engage in learning through alternative teaching methods.

The operetta, which was performed by 400 male and female students, was dedicated to showcase the great support extended by the UAE's top leadership to education.
