Khalifa honours winners of UAE Appreciation Awards

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan honoured winners of the UAE Appreciation Awards for Science, Arts and Literature at Al Bateen Palace in Abu Dhabi today, in the presence of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Khalifa congratulated the winners on their achievements, excellence and creativity in their specialised fields. ''Our children who won these awards constitute a shinning example in the forward movement of our country, which is rich with creative professionals spearheading our civilised march,'' the President said.

Sheikh Khalifa affirmed that the government would give greater attention and support to national innovators by providing them with all the required facilities to succeed and contribute to the development and progress of the UAE for future generations.

Award recipients expressed their great joy on meeting the president, a key patron and supporter science, innovation and excellence in the UAE. They went on to pledge to Sheikh Khalifa that they would continue to work in the service of the homeland to pass on science and creativity to the next generation.
