Mohammed approves federal HR structure
25 May 2010
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved the federal government's new organisational structure concerning human resources (HR), which reformulates the management of its HR system, as well as identifying its functions and objectives.
The new system comes in line with the federal government's strategic directives and HR plans to track the performances of government officials, while developing training and education programmes to support employee growth.
In addition to encouraging organisational excellence, the structure adopted by Sheikh Mohammed sets out general policies covering HR standards and the responsibilities of the board of directors who will oversee the implementation of the HR system.
The board will be made up of a director general and three HR executive directors, tasked with ensuring that all plans, policies and programmes under the new HR system meet international standards. Other key functions will involve developing and introducing an effective performance appraisal system to be applied to all federal government personnel, as well as conducting investigations and following up employee complaints where appropriate.
