20 June 2010
The Ministerial Council for Services approved here today in its meeting held at the Presidential Palace the proposal of the Ministry of Health to reintegrate Aids patients into the society and update the Anti Aids National Programme.
The move aims to protect and streamline the rights of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (Aids) patients in regard to work, education, treatment, on one hand and the community on the other hand.
Chaired by HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, the council discussed the memo submitted to it by the Ministry of Social Welfare on ability of participation of the private sector and non profitable organisations to provide some social services. It ordered more studies before being re-submitted to the council.
It tackled the State Audit Institution's annual report on the final account of the Emirates Identity Authority of the years ended 31/12/2005, 31/12/2006 and 31/12/2007 respectively. The council also examined the final account of the General Authority of Civil Aviation for the fiscal year ended 31/12/2009.
