Mohammed issues decision on voluntary retirement

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has issued a decision concerning the voluntary retirement of staff who have worked at federal ministries for 30 years or more, in accordance with the amended provisions of the pensions and social insurance law.
As per Cabinet Resolution No.20 of 2010, employees at federal ministries who have completed at least 30 years of service will now be eligible to apply for voluntary retirement. Guidelines for the determining retirement pensions are also laid out as part of the legislation.
The decision, which allows federal staff to apply for voluntary retirement within six months of its date of issue, comes in recognition of the service and efforts of citizens working long-term at federal institutions. Applications will not be accepted if submitted after the 6 month deadline.
Overseeing the decision’s implantation will be the Federal Government Human Resources Department and the Ministry of Finance, in coordination with the General Authority for Pensions and Social Security.
