Roles & Responsibilities of the Prime Minister
The Prime Minister of the UAE assumes the following responsibilities, as per the Constitution of the United Arab Emirates:
- The Prime Minister and all ministers are jointly responsible in front of the President of the UAE and the Supreme Council for execution of the General Policy of the Federal Government inside and outside the UAE.
- Supervises the coordination of work among the various ministries and executive federal government entities, providing directives to ministers particularly on matters affecting the governments general policy
- Calls for convening the Cabinet, administers its discussions, and monitors the activities of ministers
- Undertakes the presidency over the Cabinet Sessions
Meanwhile, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum assumes the position of Vice President of the UAE, wherein he undertakes carrying out all the roles and responsibilities of the President of the UAE in cases when the President is not present for any reason.
